Bob Filner covers his ears!!!

My parents live in Representative Bob Filner's district. I Faxed and Email him regarding the Cap and trade bill but he ignored me. I was planning on attending the Town Hall Meeting and voicing my opinion on the Healthcare bill but dear ol' Bob doesn't want to have any Town Hall Meetings! I found his UNBELIEVABLE video. These idiots were praising his courage! I call it Cowardice!

Here is the little note I sent to Bob Filner:

Dear Representative Bob Felner:

Your refusal to have a Town Hall Meeting during the August break has left me extremely disappointed. I am sorry sir but the only words that come to my mind are cowardice and arrogance. Cowardice in hiding from those you are supposed to represent and Arrogance in thinking that your opinions are more correct or valued more than any one of ours!

It was bad enough that you ignored the Faxes and Emails pleading with you NOT to support the Cap & Trade bill but to refuse to hold a town hall meeting in which "We the People" need to inform you of our opinions on this Health Care bill is beyond betrayal. How can you represent us if you refuse to hear us?

You were given a sacred public trust when you were elected to represent our opinions. We did not elect you to represent your own opinions nor the opinion that gets you party loyalty or political power and favors or even worse the opinion of those who do not live in our area who would line the pockets of some with dirty money. I hope that you are not found in any of these forms of betrayal for they are not honorable paths to pursue sir.

I beg you to reconsider and remember the true job description of a representative of "We the People" Please! Please! Please! Read the constitution and remember what the framers set up for us!

My heart breaks as I see my beloved country ensnaring itself in the chains of debt that will shackle the toddlers and unborn citizens of this country with this unjust burden. We are restricting them to diminished opportunities and a lesser quality of life then we have enjoyed because we are unwilling to pay for our own decadence. We have inflicted it upon them. They have no voice if I do not raise mine on their behalf.

Please think long and hard about what you are doing. You can fool yourself into thinking you are helping the common good with this healthcare bill but no one will be helped when the country is bankrupt! This unbridled spending started with Bush and it made me very angry!!! But this “panic mode” spending makes bush look like a penny pincher! ENOUGH already! Please use some common sense and stop spending money we don’t have and will never have! I am begging and pleading with you!

I live with my aging parents because they can’t afford “live-in” help. They have a tiny little home that they lived in almost all of their married lives. They have a very limited income and I only have a part-time job. Managing their healthcare expenses is difficult but a public healthcare option makes my knees buckle in fear. Please do not take us down this path. It WILL NOT be easier. It will be a nightmare and they will lose so much.

These public healthcare programs have been tried and are failing all over the globe. Let us learn from the mistakes of others and do what America always does --- find the new and better solution! Give us the support to innovate a new model of private healthcare that revolutionizes the system. I hear the voices here and there with great ideas and options but they are silenced by the greedy and powerful found in and out of government.
